For Young Children: The Story of Jesus: A Journey of Love and Hope
A long time ago, in
a little town called Bethlehem, a special baby was born. This baby
was named Jesus – (Yeshua in Hebrew), and even though he came into
the world in a simple manger, he was meant to do amazing things.
People believed that he would bring love and hope to everyone. No one knows the true date He was born, but most people celebrate His Birthday on December 25th. Many believe He was born in the spring, and some in Autumn sometime in September or October..
As
Jesus grew up, he did wonderful things. He helped people who were
sick, turned water into wine at a wedding, and even fed thousands of
hungry people with just a few loaves of bread and some fish. Imagine
how incredible it must have been to be there and see him share and
care for everyone around him! Jesus taught people to be kind, to love
one another, and to treat everyone fairly.
There were
times when he faced challenges. Some people didn’t understand him
and didn’t like the changes he was teaching. But Jesus kept going.
He showed courage and continued to spread love. One day, he knew
something difficult was coming. He prayed and felt deep sadness about
it, but he still chose to help others even during that hard
time.
Eventually, Jesus was arrested because some people
were afraid of how much others loved him. He faced a lot of
suffering, and despite being treated unfairly, he still forgave those
who hurt him. They nailed him to a wooden tree – a cross, and it
was a very sad moment. Many people who loved him were there—his
mother Mary, his friends, and others who believed in him. They cried
and felt heartbroken.
After he died, they buried Jesus in
a tomb, a safe, quiet place. It seemed as if all hope had gone away,
and his friends didn’t know what to do. But three days later, an
amazing thing happened! The tomb where he was laid was found empty.
Jesus was not there! Some women who went to visit the tomb saw angels
who told them that Jesus was alive.
Can you imagine the
joy and surprise they felt? When Jesus appeared to his friends, they
were filled with happiness and disbelief. He showed them his hands
and feet, and they knew it was really him! Jesus had conquered death
and returned to share that love and hope were never lost.
He
spent more time with them, teaching and sharing stories, reminding
everyone how important it is to love and care for one another. Then
he returned to a special place in the sky, promising that he would
always be with them, in their hearts. Even today, people still share
the stories of Jesus, showing us that his love is real and can be
felt all around us.

After
Jesus rose from the dead, his friends were filled with joy, and they
didn’t keep that excitement to themselves. They traveled far and
wide, sharing the amazing news that Jesus was alive and teaching
everyone about his love. They wanted everyone to know that Jesus had
come to show us how to live kindly, forgive each other, and be
friends, no matter where we came from.
One of Jesus’
closest friends, Peter, boldly spoke to crowds, telling them about
Jesus’ miracles and how he cared for those who were lost and hurt.
Other friends, like Paul, who was once against the teachings of
Jesus, had a heart-changing experience and began sharing Jesus’
message even more passionately. They traveled through towns and
cities, sharing stories, teaching in homes, and speaking in
marketplaces.
People began to gather and form communities
(churches). They celebrated together, prayed for one another, and
helped those in need. The message of Jesus spread like wildfire! In
places far away, like Africa, Asia, and Europe, communities formed
around the teachings of kindness and love that Jesus showed. Even in
difficult times or when people faced challenges, they encouraged one
another to stay strong and continue sharing Jesus’ love.
But
not everyone was happy about this message. Some people didn’t want
others to believe in Jesus, and so those who followed him sometimes
faced hardships and even danger. Many were brave and continued to
share their faith, even if it meant suffering or giving up their
lives. They loved Jesus so much that they were willing to face
anything to spread his message. Their courage inspired others to
believe, and it showed the world how powerful love can be.
As
the years passed, different people and groups rose up to tell Jesus’
story in different ways. Some wrote down the stories, creating books
that explained everything about Jesus’ life, his teachings, and the
miracles he did for people. Others became missionaries, traveling to
distant places to help communities and share the message of love and
hope.
Throughout history, many people have carried on
this mission, working tirelessly to help the poor, heal the sick, and
bring people together. Whether through building hospitals, schools,
or shelters, they realized that living out Jesus’ teachings meant
showing love through actions.
To this day, the story of
Jesus continues to inspire many. People gather on Saturdays, Sundays
and throughout the week to learn and share his message. They create
music, art, and stories that reflect the love he taught. Every time
someone shows kindness, forgives another person, or helps someone in
need, they are living out the truth of Jesus and keeping his spirit
alive in today’s world.
Although many things have
changed over time, what remains the same is the heart of Jesus’
message: to love one another and to spread hope. Since rising from
the dead, Jesus has been present in the hearts of believers, guiding
them and reminding us all that his love is for everyone, everywhere,
forever.

Now, imagine a
friend who loves everyone, no matter what. This friend always listens
when you’re sad and celebrates when you’re happy. That’s who
Jesus is! He cared for people when they were sick, hungry, or lonely.
There are stories of Him helping people like a dad who needed help
for his little girl and a woman who was very sad because she had lost
someone she loved. Jesus was always there to show love and kindness,
helping everyone feel special.
Now, think about when you
do something nice for someone else—like sharing your toy or helping
a friend if they fall. That feeling you get when you see someone
smile is a little bit like the love Jesus showed. It’s the same
kindness we can share every day.
You might have heard of
superheroes who help people in trouble. Jesus is the best
superhero because He cared for people’s hearts and showed them how
to love one another. Many people today say they feel Jesus with them
when they’re kind, when they help others, or when they look to the
sky for answers. These moments of love and goodness are reminders
that Jesus is here with us.
In our community, maybe you’ve
seen people volunteering, helping others who need food or a warm
place to sleep. That spirit of giving and caring echoes what Jesus
taught. When you join in to help out, you’re spreading that same
love that He showed.
When we gather with family and
friends, sharing stories about love, kindness, and hope, it’s a way
to keep Jesus alive in our hearts. If we treat everyone with respect
and love—just like Jesus did—we can feel His presence around us.
That’s the magic of Jesus; He inspires us to be better and brighter
for one another.
So every time you see someone being kind
or you help a friend, remember, you’re showing the love that Jesus
taught. That makes Him very real in our lives, today and every day.
This was a great way for kids to really understand the kindness of Jesus and the love he has for us all. Some of this was a little adult for a kid which would be the death of jesus.i think maybe 🤔 that part would be a bit much for them to understand other than that overall great and true story.
