At The Edge of Obedience

At the edge of obedience, when God's command doesn’t make sense, we face one of the most profound struggles in the life of faith. God asks us to do something that seems irrational, unreasonable, or even contradictory to His promises. We are asked to trust His voice above our understanding, to surrender what we think we know for the sake of a divine call that doesn’t fit with our plans. In these moments, we are forced to choose between obedience and doubt, between the logic of our own reasoning and the trust that God, in His infinite wisdom, knows what is best. Take, for example, Abraham . God spoke to him and gave him a command that would test the very foundation of his faith and understanding. “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah; and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you” (Genesis 22:2) . This wasn’t just any child; this was Isaac, the son of promise , the child through whom all the promi...

Assemble Yourselves

Gather ‘round, dear friends! For the Jewish people, Passover isn’t just about eating matzah and hiding the afikomen ; it’s a significant celebration of new beginnings, a kind of divine spring cleaning for the soul. Just as Passover signals fresh starts, Christ’s sacrifice on the cross marked a new beginning for all who believe in Him. It's like turning the page to a new chapter in the greatest story ever told. Now, regarding the Jewish people, God had essential plans laid out for them. Today, let's focus on Passover, which I believe is a highlight of the faith journey. Passover: Feast of Unleavened Bread In Exodus 12, we find God giving Moses and Aaron instructions in Egypt. “Mark your calendars, this is the month ( Abib ) of new beginnings,” He says. “On the tenth day, everyone needs to choose a lamb.” This isn’t a “bring your own lamb” event; if your household is small, you are to partner with a neighbor for lamb-sharing. It’s an organized approach to ensure that every...

Being An Introducer

Image
Philip found Nathanael, and said unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. ~John 1:45-46 Are we excited about introducing people to Jesus? How many people have we introduced to Him? It is not only the actual introduction, but also our own behavior and speech that will want others to eagerly be introduced to Him. Do we go "out of our way" to behave in such a way that would make Jesus proud to be introduced by us? and proud to be "associated with", by the one being introduced? There was a man who entered a church many years ago. He was dressed in rags, and had messy hair. When he went into the church, those there looked down on him as if he were a second class citizen if even that. This man stood up in that church as he was leaving and said something to the effect of "I...

Banned For The Truth

Image
Some time ago, on a social media site, I shared a teaching about what the Bible says regarding the ultimate end of evil.  Scripture makes it very clear: evil will be destroyed .  Not endlessly tormented, not forever suffering, but removed completely.  I DID NOT promote any kind of "annihilation" as charged.  I SAID, ALL EVIL will be destroyed .  I am truly sorry for them, if those accusers actually WANT evil to continue.  Yeshua Himself said of the wicked, “Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting destruction, prepared for the devil and his angels” Matthew 25:41 . The Greek word apōleia means ruin, destruction, ceasing to exist .  It does not mean ongoing torment.   Isaiah 10:23 , Malachi 4:1, and Revelation 20:14 all show the same truth: God WILL remove evil from His creation. It is both justice and mercy. Because of this teaching, I was banned from a "Christian" chat site.  I was not being divisive nor disrespectful....

Adventures In Faith

Image
As we walk through our lives, we all come to places where decisions have to be made. Some are simple, and some can shake the ground under our feet. That is where faith is tested. Our walk with God is not a dull thing. It is a living journey, full of trials, surprises, mercies, and moments where we clearly see His hand at work. In The Scripture, we read about people who stepped out in faith without having every answer first. Abraham is one of the clearest examples. God told him to leave the familiar and go to a land that would be shown to him later. Genesis 12:1 says, “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get out of your country… unto a land that I will sh o w you .” He did not have the full map. He had the voice of God. So he went. He faced famine, fear, delay, and testing, yet the Lord proved faithful through it all. We see the same truth at the Red Sea. Israel stood trapped between the water and Pharaoh’s army. Fear rose quickly, but God made a way where no way could be s...

יְהוָֹה THE ACRONYM YHWH

יְהוָֹה What is the acronym יְהוָֹה (YHWH)? Who conceived of it? How should it be pronounced? ‘YHWH’ (יְהוָֹה) is a Hebrew acronym that stands for: ‘He was’ (הָיָה - HaYa) ‘He is’ (הוֶה - HoVeH) ‘He will be’ (יִהְיֶה - YeHeH) Since YHWH is an acronym, it should be pronounced only as such, letter by letter. In Hebrew, it is pronounced as Yod, Heh, Vav, Heh ; after the four letters that constitute the acronym, it does not have vowels in between the consonants. In English, one may pronounce it as Y-H-W-H , also letter by letter. YHWH means "the Eternal." Where does the acronym YHWH (יְהוָֹה) first appear in the Bible? Elohim represents the attribute of justice. YHWH represents the attribute of mercy. YHWH (Mercy) entered our world as a (spiritual) ray of light on the Sabbath (seventh day). Then YHWH Elohim created Adam in His oneness (Genesis chapter 2). Where do we see in the text the acronym YHWH (יְהוָֹה) for the first time? For that, let’s examine again the events of t...

Where Yeshua Went

Image
This teaching is written in a more structured form than my usual writing, and I want to explain that right away. Normally, I don’t write in outlines or segmented sections like this.  It’s not how I think, and it’s not how I naturally teach.  I prefer flow, conversation, and unfolding thought as it comes to me. But in this case, the subject matter has brought together multiple questions that often get separated, misunderstood, or argued in pieces, death, Sheol, resurrection, “spirits in prison,” and what Scripture actually means when it uses words like “all,” “heaven,” “earth,” and “under the earth.” So I’ve set it out (tried to at least) in a clearer structure, not to reduce it, but to hopefully prevent confusion.  It is meant to keep each piece visible while still letting Scripture speak for itself without interruption or assumption. This is not a replacement for my normal teaching method.  It is simply a way of making sure nothing gets lost in translation while...

*Your Prayers And Testimonies*

Image
If you’d like prayer, or if you’d like to share a testimony of how God has worked in your life, whether through answered prayers, unexpected blessings, or His guidance in your everyday moments, you can do so here.  I read every single message and bring each one before God in prayer.  He knows every detail, even the ones we can’t put into words.  And if you’d like, I’d love to hear how He continues to move in your life. To leave a prayer or your testimony, leave a comment. Blessings to you in the wonderful name of Yeshua HaMeshiach (Jesus Christ).

A Time When People Become "Them"

Image
Instead of People There are moments in Scripture where God compels us to slow down and pay attention, not only to what people are doing, but also to how easily the human heart can take something true and slowly bend it into something dangerous and false when it is not held in check or kept anchored in God’s truth. One of the most consistent tensions in the Bible is this: God is never indifferent to injustice, yet He is also never willing to let His people become shaped or formed by hatred in response to injustice.  Those two realities run together all through Scripture from beginning to end.  If they are separated from each other, distortion begins on both sides, and truth becomes unbalanced in the heart. The foundation appears very early in the call of Abraham, where God says, “I will bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you” (Genesis 12:3). This is not a casual statement or a simple blessing formula. It is God anchoring His covenant purpose in real histor...
