“Does anybody really know what time it is?”

“Does anybody really know what time it is?” The question lingers in the air, more than curiosity—it is a doorway, a small crack into eternity itself, into the rhythm of God’s sovereign plan. Even the most precise watch, yes, even a Rolex, cannot tell what time it really is. Clocks measure seconds, minutes, hours—they chart (chronos) , the ordinary, sequential flow of events that humans can count, observe, and record. Yet (chronos) cannot measure the moments God ordains, the sacred (zeman) , the (kairos) moments when heaven intersects with the temporal, when eternity touches our finite lives. My husband has said many times: “Even a Rolex won’t tell you what time it really is.” And he is right. We see the house today; tomorrow, it may be gone. Seasons turn, calendars mark the years, yet the truth of what exists—the moment, the house, the season—remains eternal, unseen but lasting.
