  Zion – God's Dwelling Place, Then and Now? Let’s take a walk through the idea of God dwelling on Mount Zion. This concept starts in the Psalms, where we get some of the most beautiful pictures of Zion. In Psalm 2:6, it says, "I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill." There’s something powerful in that. Zion is called God’s "holy hill." In Hebrew, the word for “hill” is gib`ah , which means not just a physical hill but a place of elevation, a place where something is lifted up. It’s as if God is saying, “This is where my King will reign, on the high ground of holiness.” Zion isn’t just any place. It's a place where God sets His authority, where He establishes His presence.
