Worship God's Word Completely
Read this in worshipful prayer to our Holy God:
In Genesis, I bow before the words בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים (Berēshīt bārā’ ’Elōhīm: “In the beginning, God created”). You, O Lord, called light out of darkness and breathed life into dust. And even in the garden, when sin entered, I see You whispering of Yeshua, the Seed who would crush the serpent’s head.
In Exodus, I hear the cries of Your people and see Your mercy answer: אֲנִי יְהוָה (Ani YHWH: “I am the LORD”). You break the chains, split the sea, and lead Your children home. Your glory rests among them in the tabernacle, and I know this is Emmanuel, Yeshua dwelling with us.
In Leviticus, You call — וַיִּקְרָא (Vayyikra: “And He called”). A holy God inviting me close. Every sacrifice, every priestly act, points straight to the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. You say, קְדֹשִׁים תִּהְיוּ (Qedoshim tihyu – “Be holy”), and in Yeshua, You clothe me with that holiness.
In Numbers, though Your children wander and doubt, You remain faithful. You rain manna from heaven, You give water from the rock — and I see Messiah saying, ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ἄρτος τῆς ζωῆς (Egō eimi ho artos tēs zōēs: “I am the bread of life”), the true food that never fails.
In Deuteronomy, I hear Moses plead: שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ יְהוָה אֶחָד (Shema Yisra’el, YHWH ’Eloheinu, YHWH ’echad: “Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one”). Love Him, cling to Him, walk in His ways. And I remember Yeshua saying this is the greatest commandment.
In Joshua, You whisper, חֲזַק וֶאֱמָץ (Chazaq ve’ematz: “Be strong and courageous”). And I watch the walls fall, not by might, but by Your hand. You are the One who wins the battles of Your people.
In Judges, I ache at the words: בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם אֵין מֶלֶךְ (Bayamim hahem ein melekh: “In those days there was no king”). Yet even when they wander, You keep rescuing them. And in my longing, I see the King who will never fail, Yeshua.
In Ruth, I see covenant love: חֶסֶד (chesed). A foreigner grafted into Israel’s story, her faithfulness becoming the very pathway for Messiah to come. O Lord, how Your mercy draws in the outsider, just as You drew me.
In Samuel, I see the hunger for a king. Saul falls, but You raised David, a shepherd after Your heart. And You whisper of a throne that will last forever: a promise kept only in Yeshua, the Son of David, the eternal King.
In Kings and Chronicles, I watch kingdoms rise and crumble, but Your covenant promise never dies. Though exile comes, the hope of Messiah still burns.
In Ezra and Nehemiah, You rebuild ruins. Stones are set, walls are raised, but more, hearts are renewed. You are the Restorer, and I see Yeshua, who rebuilds the brokenness of my soul.
In Esther, though Your name is hidden, I see Your hand in every detail. You preserve Your people, keeping the promise alive until the Messiah comes.
In Job, in the ashes of pain, the cry rises: גֹּאֲלִי חָי (Go’ali chai: “My Redeemer lives”). And I know that Redeemer. It is Yeshua, who enters our suffering and redeems our sorrow.
In Psalms, I hear every heartbeat: joy and despair, fear and praise. And in every song, I find Yeshua, my Shepherd, my Rock, my Deliverer, my King.
In Proverbs, wisdom calls out: יְרָאַת יְהוָה רֵאשִׁית דָּעַת (Yir’at YHWH re’shit da’at: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge”). And in Messiah, Wisdom takes on flesh to walk with me.
In Ecclesiastes, I hear, הֲבֵל הֲבָלִים (Havel havalim: “Vanity of vanities”). All is empty without You. Yet in Yeshua, life is no longer meaningless, but full.
In Song of Songs, I hear the love song of covenant. It is a shadow of the Bridegroom’s love, and in Messiah, I know I am His beloved.
In Isaiah, I see the Holy One high and lifted up, yet a Servant wounded for my transgressions. עִמָּנוּ אֵל (Immanu’el : “God with us”) is promised, and Yeshua is that promise fulfilled.
In Jeremiah, I hear the tears of the prophet, yet a promise shines: בְּרִית חֲדָשָׁה (Berit Chadashah: “new covenant”). And I see Yeshua lifting the cup and saying, “This is the new covenant in My blood.”
In Lamentations, ruins groan, but hope rises: חַסְדֵי יְהוָה כִּי לֹא־תָמְנוּ (Chasdei YHWH ki lo-tamnu: “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases”).
In Ezekiel, I watch dry bones live again, and You promise a new heart and a new spirit. And I see the Spirit poured out in Yeshua’s name.
In Daniel, I behold the בַּר אֱנָשׁ (Bar ’Enash: “Son of Man”) coming to the Ancient of Days. And I know Him — Yeshua, whose kingdom will never pass away.
Through Hosea to Malachi, I hear Your prophets cry: return, repent, believe. Judgment for the proud, mercy for the humble. Every voice points to Yeshua, the coming King.
Then the silence breaks. In Matthew, Messiah is born: עִמָּנוּ אֵל (Immanu’el: “God with us”).
In Mark, the mighty Son of God comes, healing, teaching, serving, and giving His life a ransom for many.
In Luke, joy rings as the Savior for all is born. Light shines for Jew and Gentile alike.
In John, eternity speaks: ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ λόγος (En archē ēn ho logos: “In the beginning was the Word”). The Word became flesh, and in Him is life.
In Acts, fire falls, the πνεῦμα ἅγιον (pneuma hagion: Holy Spirit) fills, and the gospel races to the nations.
Through Romans to Philemon, the letters breathe the gospel into the church: justified, sanctified, adopted, one in Messiah.
Hebrews lifts me higher. Yeshua IS my High Priest, my sacrifice, my covenant forever.
James calls me to living faith. Peter tells me to endure with hope.
John’s letters call me to walk in love and truth. Jude tells me to stand firm, clinging to the faith once delivered.
In Revelation, I see the Lamb upon the throne. He says, ἰδοὺ καινὰ ποιῶ πάντα (Idou kaina poiō panta: “Behold, I am making all things new”). And I know: this is the end of sorrow, the dawn of joy, the forever of Yeshua with His bride.
