Living out the fruits of the Spirit

Image
Living out the fruits of the Spirit in our everyday lives is a central part of what it means to follow Yeshua. These fruits, mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23 , are qualities that reflect the character of God and should be visible in the lives of believers. As we grow in our relationship with God, the Holy Spirit works within us to develop these traits. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are not simply ideals to strive for, they are qualities that should be evident in our daily actions, relationships, and responses to the world around us. ✝️✝️✝️✝️✝️ Love is the first and foundational fruit of the Spirit . It is not merely a sentiment or a fleeting emotion; it is the essence of God’s character and the measure by which He calls His children to live. As Deuteronomy 6:5 declares, “ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might, ” our love begins with Him, grounding us in His...

Raising children in the love of Christ (updated 2026)

Image
Raising children in the love of Christ is not merely a good idea; it is a sacred responsibility. It is a holy trust that God places upon the hearts of parents, a calling that reaches far beyond the routines of daily life or the practicalities of provision. From the very beginning, Scripture shows what covenant means, what family is intended to be, and how central love, wisdom, and obedience are to the shaping of life itself. Raising children is not separate from walking with God. It is a living, breathing part of that walk, woven into the rhythm of life, the shaping of relationships, and the worship of His holy name in every moment. When God spoke to Adam and Eve and said, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth ” ( Genesis 1:28 ), He was not merely issuing practical instructions. In Hebrew thought, multiplying was not only about numbers. It was about passing on His image and filling the earth with hearts that carry His likeness. Parenting, then, is about raising souls, not only ...

The Quiet Leading: Listening to the Holy Spirit’s Voice

Today’s Scriptures: Psalm 1 and Mark 9 speak to us in a way that makes us think deeply about where we stand in our lives, how we live, and the choices we make, and the people we associate with. Let’s explore these passages together, allowing their simple but powerful truths to sink in. Psalm 1 begins by describing two very different ways of living. One person is like a tree planted by streams of water, thriving because they choose to live in a way that honors God—by meditating on His Word and staying away from harmful influences. This person doesn’t follow the advice of the wicked or join in with those who mock God. They take delight in God’s law, and their life bears good fruit. The tree is deeply rooted, unshaken, and continually nourished. It’s a picture of stability, peace, and growth. On the other hand, there’s the person who chooses to follow the path of the wicked. Their life is unstable, like chaff blown away by the wind. They may seem to be getting by for a time, but u...

The Bread And Wine of Christ

Image
The Bread And Wine of Christ Jesus’ words in John 6 are packed with deep meaning, and while they may sound strange at first, they hold an essential truth about life and faith. In this passage, He tells the people that unless they “eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood,” they cannot have life in them. This statement did not fall into a vacuum. Jesus spoke these words to people who lived and breathed Torah, who understood covenant language, sacrificial language, and the meaning of blood as life. The shock was not because He was unclear, but because He was painfully clear. He was not softening the message. He was drawing a line between surface belief and true union with Him. The Greek word translated “eat” in this passage shifts as the discourse unfolds. Early in the chapter, the word phagō φάγω means to eat in a general sense . But beginning in John 6:54 , Jesus deliberately changes His wording to trōgō τρώγω, a word that means to chew, to gnaw, to actively consume. ...

Hope In the Midst of Chaos (Part 1 of the 3 part Chaos series)

The world feels like it’s spinning out of control these days. If you’ve been paying attention to the news, watching the political landscape shift, or simply observing how things seem to be deteriorating in our communities, it’s hard to ignore the feeling that something has gone seriously wrong. From the chaos in Washington, D.C. and other major political cities , to the deepening divisions in society, it feels like everything we once thought stable is now in question. The last forty five years or so have been a whirlwind of political scandals, cultural battles, and global tensions. Leaders who once inspired trust now seem to be more concerned with holding onto power than serving the people they were elected to represent. Scandals dominate the headlines, misinformation spreads like wildfire, and people seem more divided than ever. Washington, D.C., once a symbol of democracy, has become a symbol of chaos and corruption. It's as if the very heart of the nation has been overtaken by...

CREATED, MADE, FORMED

Image
In our journey of faith and life, understanding who we are and what we're here for is key. The words " created ," " formed ," and " made " are more than just theological concepts—they’re ways to help us understand our connection with God and the role we’re meant to play in this world. Each of these terms points to a different part of how God works in our lives, showing us how much intention and care went into making us who we are. These words are essential not only to our faith but also to how we view ourselves and the purpose we have in life. Looking at the Bible and stories of real people can give us valuable insight into how God’s actions shape us into who we are and who we’re meant to become. Created: A Purposeful Beginning When we begin to explore the word “created,” it immediately brings us to the understanding that we were not just placed on this earth by chance. From the moment of our creation, we were designed with intentionality. In the o...
